“I have experienced something for the first time. I travel all around the United States , and this is the first roundtable discussion I have been to where there was not one single discussion of complaint – not one. It was all about quality of teachers and the quality of teaching and education. I'm going back and tell that to the President.” Dr. Rod Paige, U.S. Secretary of Education at the Literacy in Teaching Conference Secretary Paige's words capture the tone and essence of the Literacy in Teaching Conference. For those who attended it was a spectacular success. From President Brogan, Commissioner of Education Jim Horne, and Chancellor of K-12 James Warford to the many participants, and presenters the feedback and reaction to the conference was overwhelming positive. I want to thank the entire faculty and staff who put in so much time and effort into the planning and execution of the conference. In particular I want to acknowledge:
As well as the College of Education and FAU Staff across the university
Please thank these individuals when you see them for a job well done.
