Elementary, Secondary, and Exceptional Student Education Majors

STUDENT TEACHING APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

ELIGIBILITY:
To be eligible for a student teaching/internship placement, you must meet the following criteria:
  1. Be officially admitted to an Elementary, Secondary, or Exceptional Student Education program in the FAU College of Education;  
  2. Be programmed by your assigned faculty advisor;
  3. Taken and passed all required portions of the CLAST and/or General Knowledge Test;
  4. Taken and passed the Florida Teacher Certification Exams (FTCE) – both the Professional Education and the Subject Area. OR have a scheduled test date.
    ***ALL TEST SCORES FOR THE SPRING 2010 SEMESTER WILL BE DUE BY November 25, 2009*** STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A SCHEDULED TEST DATE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION. PLEASE DO NOT DELAY.
  5. Earned a cumulative and major GPA of 2.5 or higher at the time of application.

APPLICATION STEPS:
  1. Spring 2010 Application has been closed.
  2. Assemble Your Application Packet to Include: (Paper Clip These Items Together)
  3. Make an appointment with your assigned departmental advisor to review your application. All applications must be signed by you and your advisor before submission. Students whose major is in another college, such as Arts and Letters, must also obtain the signature of that college’s assigned advisor.
  4. Turn in 2 copies of your complete packet with all signatures to any College of Education student services office no later than 5:00 pm on September 15, 2009.
