The Department of Exceptional Student Education (ESE) offers the Honors in the Major for students seeking a Bachelor’s in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) degree. This program culminates with an honors designation on the students’ degree. Students can earn the honors distinction while seeking either a Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A.E.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. The Honors in the Major offers outstanding students the option to explore an expanded view of their future profession and the broader social context of their work. The ESE Honors in the Major will provide an opportunity for ESE majors to expand their preparation in these directions. The specific purposes of the ESE Honors in the Major are:
