I would like to welcome you to the Department of Curriculum, Culture and Educational Inquiry
(CCEI) at Florida Atlantic University. We are one of the most internationally oriented faculty
in the college; most members of this cutting-edge department speak at least one other language
in addition to English, and have traveled, worked, and lived all over the world. You can find
us engaged in a multitude of international projects, like training teachers in countries such
as Brazil and Belize, working with educators in Mexico, presenting at conferences in Malaysia,
South Africa, and Italy, and sponsoring study abroad programs in Great Britain and Mexico. We
play significant leadership roles in the most prominent international, national, and regional
professional organizations in our fields. Our scholarly endeavors include editing journals,
publishing peer reviewed books and articles, presenting at national and international conferences,
and maintaining scholarly research agendas. We also have great success in writing and securing
grants for program development and research. In addition to our global interests, we respond to
the needs of the community by involving ourselves in school programs, providing professional
development for teachers, and volunteering in programs that serve underrepresented people.
You will soon discover that faculty in CCEI are some of the most enthusiastic individuals that
