Additional Therapeutic Services offered at CDC
The Communication Disorders Clinic offers Social Skills Groups whose
goal is to enhance the use of language in a social context. These
small groups are designed for children who have been diagnosed as
Asperger’s Syndrome, non-learning verbal disorder, high functioning
pervasive developmental disorder or similar distinctively different
language patterns.
The Communication Disorders
Clinic also offers Stroke Support Group for currently enrolled
clients and their spouses, significant others, families and
caregivers plus. The group meets in the clinic twice a month on the
2nd Tuesday and 4th Thursday. The group
provides opportunities to discuss common experiences and concerns
related to the stroke. It also offers participants a chance to learn
more about strokes with other people who are going through similar
challenges. In our experience it is proving to be a meaningful and
successful addition to the individuals’ therapy program.
