Beverly Warde, Ed.D. is
an Associate Professor
in Exceptional
Student Education on the
Davie Campus. She
received a doctorate in
special education from
Florida Atlantic
University with a focus
on adolescents and
adults with learning
disabilities, and became
a faculty member in
1999. Her major teaching
interests include
teacher preparation for
pre-service teachers in
the areas of assessment
and methodology.
Her current research
interests are in the
areas of transitions and
outcomes for adolescents
and adults with learning
disabilities, and
translating research
into practical
applications for
pre-service teachers.
Dr. Warde has worked
with the deans and
faculty of Lighthouse
Point Academy, providing
parent workshops on
transitioning students
with disabilities to
post-secondary
institutions, and
conducting a series of
on-site, in-service
training sessions on
utilizing cognitive and
meta-cognitive
strategies in secondary
standard diploma-track
courses.
