Cynthia L. Wilson, Ph.D. received her doctorate from Florida State University in Special Education.  Her research and instructional focus emphasizes the preparation of educators to implement research-based, effective practices to improve educational opportunities for at-risk and special education students.  In her tenure at Florida Atlantic University, Dr. Wilson has been the Department Chair, the Director of the Genesis Teacher Education Project, taught 21 different courses, authored more than 20 publications, and presented more than 30 papers at international and national conferences. Dr. Wilson has also been the recipient of the Florida Atlantic University Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.
