Workshops and Events 2007/08
About the FAU Summer Institute,
Boca Raton,
June 16 –
June 20, 2008
The
Florida Atlantic University Holocaust
Studies Summer Institute prepares
educators to implement the state mandate
requiring Holocaust education in all Florida
schools. The program’s goal is to deepen
educators’ knowledge about the Holocaust, to
expose educators to pedagogically sound
methods for teaching the Holocaust and to
foster inquiry into contemporary issues
raised by the study of the Holocaust,
genocide and human rights. The program
enables teachers to study the Holocaust as
members of a learning community in a setting
that brings together peers, university
scholars and Holocaust survivors. Each day
features lectures, demonstrations of
resources and classroom applications.
