PATHWAYS TO TEACHING

Available subject areas for the PTT program

Elementary
Math
Science
English
Social Science
Foreign Language
Music
Art

What WE do:
  1. Pay tuition* for 5 courses in fall, spring and summer on Saturday schedules
  2. Provide textbooks for each course
  3. Arrange student teaching in fall
  4. Award certificate leading to full Professional Certification
  5. Pay $500 completion bonus

*PTT covers tuition but not FAU fees. Student is responsible for one-time $10 student identification  card (Owl Card) and $60 parking decal each semester.

What YOU do:
  1. Enroll with FAU as a non-degree student
  2. Submit application package
  3. Succeed in 5 education courses
  4. Pass FTCE Professional Educator Exam
  5. Successfully student teach in fall (in your own classroom if you are hired)
  6. Apply for Professional Certification
  7. Teach in Broward, Palm Beach, or Okeechobee County for three years upon completion of your course work
