Purpose: |

The
committee shall oversee and
represent all secondary teacher
education programs offered through
FAU and advise the Dean of the
College of Education on the state of
secondary education in accordance
with recommendations of state and/or
national accrediting authorities.
|

Function: |
| |
Among
its many oversight functions STECC
shall evaluate the quality of
secondary teacher education programs
both internally and externally, as
well as course scheduling and the
consistency of advising, on an
annual basis and make
recommendations to the Dean of the
College of Education based on its
findings.

Science Education Degree Programs to
adhere to the state 120 hour degree

Teacher Education Project (STP) at
PBCC in Lake Worth and BCC in Davie.

Reviewed Content Areas Standards and
began preparation for the 2007 NCATE/DOE
visit – Dr. Ken Keaton (College of
Arts and Letters) will serve on the
NCATE Steering Committee, Dr. Ingrid
Johanson (College of Science) will
serve on the Knowledge, Skills and
Disposition Committee and Lorraine
Cross (COE) will chair the
Knowledge, Skills and Disposition
Committee and serve on the Steering
Committee.

the FTEC test provided by Al
Carnahan, Student Teaching Director
and discussed how together we could
better prepare our students for the
exam
