- Broward County Public School's On-Line Application. Your application must include the Security Background Check Form and two Recommendation Forms.
- Project Promise Application. Note you must possess a current Statement of Eligibility (SOE) from the State of Florida.
If you ARE a current Full-Time Teacher of Record teaching in a Broward County public high-need school and in a critical subject area, you need only complete the Project Promise Application. Here is a list of the high-need schools in the district.
Additional information:
The January 2010 cohort is specifically designed for first and second year
teachers with a temporary certificate, teaching in a high-need school
and in the critical subject areas of mathematics, science, English,
social science, ESE, or elementary education needing alternative certification.
All application materials for the January 2010 cohort must be completed by October 31, 2009.
- Applicants are notified if they qualify for an interview within three weeks of completing the online assessment.
- Applicants are contacted by the Teaching and Leadership Center to schedule an interview.
- If granted an interview it may be required to bring to the interview the following documentation:
- Transcript(s) from each of the colleges attended stating degree awarded. Transcripts must indicate a Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- A copy of Statement of Eligibility or Temporary Certificate, if obtained.
- A copy of Florida Teacher Certification Examinations scores, if obtained.
- A current résumé.
- If you were born after 1956, documented proof of immunity to Measles and Rubella.
Notification of selection for Project PROMISE is made through written correspondence.
