Urban Academies: Innovations in American Government Award

Broward School's Urban Academies Program received the prestigious Innovations in American Government Award! The winners were selected following presentations they made before the National Selection Committee at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government in July 2006. In addition to the recognition and publicity for the school district, the project will receive a prize of $100,000 to support, replicate and publicize the project. The Urban Academies Program was described by the director of Harvard's Ash Institute as "the kind of big picture problem-solving that public education needs."
