The Teaching and Leadership Center (TLC) at Florida Atlantic University Davie Campus is a collaborative initiative of FAU and Broward County Public Schools. The Teaching and Leadership Center was awarded a Transition to Teaching Grant from the United States Department of Education to meet the challenge of attracting, developing, and retaining qualified, competent educators for the schools in Broward County.

TLC has created the Streamlined One Stop (SOS) Center or help center to assist prospective educators in their search to learn more about becoming a teacher in Broward County.

Information sessions have been scheduled to talk about:

• The role of a teacher.
• The certification process.
• The pre-service to teaching program called the STAR. STAR (Superb Teacher Attracting and Recruiting) Program is a professional pre-service (before becoming a teacher) training program to help individuals gain the skills necessary before entering the classroom.
